Developed and written by Rachel Rodriguez, aka Chaos & Honey, this crochet pattern is for a mergator and includes two body types (one more masculine or gender neutral and one more feminine presenting) and two hair options. It's written in U.S. terminology and is available in English.
It's crocheted in the round, with a few rows of turning instead. The hair is the only piece sewn on, everything else is joined in by crocheting.
The yarns I used are not required, but are what I used for measurement.
Material requirements are included within the pattern but here is a general overview:
Gator tail part: 69 yards of yarn
Human body part: 42 estimated yards of yarn
Chest: 2 yards
Mohawk: 9 yards of yarn
Messy: 9 yards of yarn (just the cap)
Crochet hook (size depends on yarn but general range is 3.25-6)
Scissors
Darning needle/Sewing needle
Dry Polyfill - This really helps with the shaping and is slightly different than regular polyfill.
Stitch markers
Safety eyes (or embroider your own)
Flexible Curling Rod - 0.3 size (Pink)
